Combustion chamber. 2. Spherical glass Dia300, brass fitting at the top for connection to tubing. Brass stopcocks. Electrical connecton for ignition. A silver tube Diac8 is inserted down into the sphere, the end turned up and with a tiny opening, presumably for admitting hydrogen. Brass stand: the glass is supported by a brass belt with 3 brass rods a feet.Ref: Van Marum p248 fig165.Not signed, but certainly from Holland.c1790
