Electrostatic generator. Rubber disc rotated in mercury, Van Marum's invention. Mahogany base 645x140. 2 mahogany uprights H380 support the axle for the rotatable shellac disc Dia320, the hight of which can be adjusted. Semicircular mahogany trough is supported by 2 glass pillars. 2 black brass conductors Dia65 H150 with brass rods L330 and L440 ending in brass spheres Dia20 forming the spark gap. The prime conductor is a conical cylinder Dia50-42 L160 with saw teeth around the narrow end, which is kept close to the rotating plate.Compare with Van Marum p 311.Not signedc1790 (g)
